DESCRIPTION

A tree fringed shore of waving palms and lush beach foliage conceals a lively holiday community spread out on either side of the island. There are plenty of activities to be enjoyed at Meeru, but if it´s a little relaxation you crave, there are plenty of shady beaches where you can take a casual stroll.

Acknowledged as a bit of a divers´ Mecca, Meeru is located right in the centre of some of the best dive sites in the Maldives. Meeru may be one of the more remote islands in the North Malé Atoll, but you´ll find everything you could want for a perfect beach holiday. At Meeru we want you to relax, but you won´t be bored, as there are plenty of things to do. Kick off your shoes when you step ashore, the whole island is covered in soft sand - even the reception and restaurant floors - bare feet and a laid back approach are definitely the order of the day.Meeru is one of the largest islands in the Maldives at 70 acres. The island itself has an excellent house reef making it an ideal place to dive and snorkel and experience all the local marine life. On land the facilities are excellent, with a white sandy beach and shallow lagoon to relax away the tropical days.

ACCOMODATION Total of 260 rooms.

Standard Rooms have simple furnishings with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mini-bar, telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, shower room and terrace.

Superior Rooms (Land Villas) are individual bungalows with upgrade furnishings.

Jacuzzi Villas are as per superior rooms but with a private garden with an outdoor Jacuzzi.

Water Villas are as per superior rooms but built on stilts partly over the sea with a sundeck. They also have a CD player.

Jacuzzi Water Villas are as per the water villas with an additional Jacuzzi on the sundeck with steps giving direct access to the water.

Honeymoon suites are set in the fine lagoon with a four-poster bed, living room area, en-suite bathroom and access by private boat.

DINING

Main restaurant; a la carte Dhoni restaurant, a la carte Asian Wok restaurant; Coffee Shop; Beach Bar, Sports Bar and Pool Bar; Exclusive facilities for Jacuzzi Villas and upwards are the Malayan restaurant, bar and reception. Evening entertainment;

FACILITIES

Swimming pool with sun terrace and a separate children's pool; Sports include two tennis courts, badminton, volleyball and a golf driving range. The PADI dive and water-sports centre facilitates diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and sailing. The resort also has a fitness centre and spa; Internet café; Boutique, Jewellery Shop and Gift Shop.

ALL INCLUSIVE OPTION - what's included
